Customer question about measurements.

Q:  I have a question about the measurements of the Armory Rack.  I have a gun safes that measures 26 inches the width of the safe.  I was looking up the measurements of the Armory rack and for the 26 inch shelf, the 8(16 1/2) rack and the 4(8 1/4) rack would fit? when I rounded up the size of the specs you have on line it came to 26 inches.  The reason why I am asking is to be double safe on my measurements before placing an order?

A: You will be fine with putting the 8 next to the 4 on the 26” shelf.  Our racks measure to spec to ensure fit, most customers do exactly what you are doing to ensure fit.  I have attached a pic of a 8 gun rack next to a 4 gun rack as if they were next to each other on a shelf.  Please see the attached.

Q: What is the recommended distance between shelves when using your Armory Racks?

A: 8 1/4" is about the correct distance between shelves to enable you to get to the guns in the back of a safe and without having to remove the rack, including large handguns.  The absolute minimum depends on the actual guns used.  A full size 1911 on the rack in its shipping configuration is 6 3/4" high. This will allow the tray to sit under the guns as seen in the various pictures.  If you don't use a tray the hangers can bend downward pretty easily and you can reduce the height requirement to 6".

4 Gun - 4 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W x 8 3/4" D - without handguns
6 Gun - 4 3/4" H x 12 1/4" W x 8 3/4" D - without handguns
